About Northallerton Train Station

Northallerton Train Station is enjoying a resurgence in popularity due to the Grand Central service that runs from Sunderland to London Kings Cross. Previously, the train would only stop at Eaglescliffe and York before heading on to the capital. Now, Northallerton is on the list of stations it serves.

The station is staffed 7 days per week, and it also has toilets and a newsagents. There are heated waiting rooms on both platforms.

Transpennine Express is the train company you’ll see most here, connecting Northallerton with Manchester, York, Leeds, Huddersfield, Manchester Airport, Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle.

From Northallerton you can visit Mount Grace Priory, ancient ruins with a lot of history. Take a look around Barkers department store and visit local artist and photographer Joe Cornish’s gallery.

Northallerton’s market day is on Wednesday and Saturday, and is a chance to see this North Yorkshire market town at its best.
